The most amazing thing about this film is that pretty much every single person acting in it has never been apart of screenplay before, AND IT STILL HAS THE BEST PERFORMANCES THAT I'VE EVER SEEN. Taking place in the violent neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, two boys grow up taking completely different paths; one becoming a photographer, and another a dangerous drug dealer. I know I'm not explaining much, but that is because I really want you to watch this film and see everything that partakes in it. It is truly an amazing picture.

Li'l Z takes over

#4 goodfellas

Terrific film with superb acting and an intriguing storyline. With big names like Ray Liota, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Samuel L. Jackson (although he wasn't in it that long), it's very easy to fall in love with the over the top characters that each of them portray in this film. For example, Tommy Devito who is played by Joe Pesci, is a well known mobster who packs a lot on his hip but lacks a ton when it comes to size. Throughout the movie you can tell that his "little man syndrome" is the reason for his random outbursts which eventually lead him and his friends into trouble towards the end. An intense film that is filled with drama, action, and a lot of shooting. Wouldn't recommend showing this to kids lol... I know how you parents are these days.

This is some of Denzel Washington's best work. In fact, I even added his performance as "Alanzo" (The main character in this film) to my list of "Greatest Performances", that you can find in the navigation bar at the top of this website.

Also, there's a quick spotting of Eva Mendez naked towards the end of this film for you Mendez lovers ;)

Another crime film on this list that is based off of a true story. During the 1970s in America, a detective by the name of Richie Roberts works to bring down the drug empire of Frank Lucas, a heroin kingpin from Manhattan, who is smuggling drugs into America from another country. Personally, I love this film because of how well they brought the story to life with terrific dialogue, the right transitions, and choosing the right actors to fill each role; Plus, Denzel Washington in the film! So check this one out, I promise you that it won't disappoint.

#8 SWORDFISH

This science fictional thriller is absolutely brilliant to me. With top names like Hugh Jackman, John Travolta, Halle Berry, and Don Cheadle, "Swordfish" is packed with incredible talent that helps the story line tremendously. The plot revolves around a well known hacker by the name of Stanley, (played by Hugh Jackman) who is hired by a mysterious terrorist that offers him a ton of money to break down a banks' firewall and transfer funds for him. Of course it doesn't turn out that easy or there wouldn't be a movie about it. If suspense, erotic scenes, shooting, and science fiction is your thing, then Swordfish is for you.

Stellar performances from Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. "Collateral" is a thriller/action film filled with intense scenes and events that you won't be able to predict. This movie is rated R however I do feel like it's okay for younger people to see. There's only around 3-4 major shooting scenes that actually don't have too much blood in them.

PLOT

A cab driver finds himself the hostage of an engaging contract killer as he makes his rounds from hit to hit during one night in Los Angeles.

#10 the sting (1973)

Classic film that will never be forgotten. A pioneer movie for crime films! "The Sting" is a marvelous film with terrific acting (Especially from Robert Redford) and very entertaining scenes. I don't know if you're a fan of old films or old graphics, but if not, you still might want to make some room for this movie. It won't disappoint.

In Chicago in September 1936, a young con man seeking revenge for his murdered partner teams up with a master of the big con to win a fortune from a criminal banker.

The ending in this film is insane man... It literally left me in shock. VERY interesting film with great acting from Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. She played the role of Amy Dunne so well that I was actually beginning to think she was crazy in real life as the movie progressed...LIKE SHE PLAYED IT TOO WELL!! Just a little fishy...lol. But yea, check this movie out, but be prepared for that ending. Some people will go the DISTANCE man...that's all I'll say...just crazy.

#12 the usual suspects

The ending of this movie will leave you speechless. I promise you. You won't be able to guess this one. Every single actor in this film did an amazing job, but Kevin Spacey was beyond magnificent. I see why they pay him the big bucks. Definitely take time out to view this film.

A sole survivor tells of the twisty events leading up to a horrific gun battle on a boat, which begin when five criminals meet at a seemingly random police lineup.

#13 lawless

I really like this film. Tom Hardy has really grown on me as an actor, especially when I found out that he played Bane in Batman. "Lawless" is an intriguing film set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, about a trio of bootlegging brothers who become threatened by a new deputy and other authorities aiming for a cut of their profits. This is when things heat up in the movie. Shooting, action, drama, and murders is what partakes in this film, and I loved every second of it. Another one to see folks!
