"GIFTED" Movie Review

(GIFTED - COVER)

If there's one thing I took from this movie it's that Mckenna Grace is the next big thing in the future of Hollywood, or at least I feel like she'll be. Reminding me of Dakota Fanning when she was around the same age as Mckenna, the young star absolutely aced her role in this film. Every emotion, every moment, and every scene was easy to feel whenever Mckenna was in it, which made this a very enjoyable movie to watch. As far as the other actors and actresses in this film, there acting was pretty good as well. As you can see in the picture above, well-known actor Chris Evans (Captain America, Fantastic Four) plays the girls parental guardian, and did an exceptional job at playing it, especially add in the fact that he usually doesn't play older character in films.

The story line itself could be looked at as simple, but I actually find it rather realistic and controversial, which also makes it an interesting film. I actually found myself almost tearing up at ones of the seems, BUT CHILL, I'm still a real *****. But yes, if you're looking for a solid film with emotional, funny, and entertaining scenes, this movie is for you.

THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS Review

(THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS - COVER)

The Fate of the Furious... hmmmm, where do I start with this one??? Originally being one of the most dedicated Fast and the Furious fans alive, I found myself losing love for them after the 4th movie they released. I felt like the concept of what the movies were originally about were being lost and substituted for unrealistic heists and scenes. Later I realized that although many things that I liked about the original Fast and the Furious movies were being forgotten, that the new movies that were being created overall were still VERY GOOD MOVIES. It felt as if I was saying goodbye to an old car and buying a newer, faster, and more kick ass one, which is certainly alright with me. Fast and the Furious went from crazy drag racing scenes to cars jumping out of windows, but either one is still fun to watch. So now watching the newest version of the series titled "The Fate of the Furious" with my evolved mindset, I have to say that I was indeed very impressed and entertained with everything that took place in the film. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was INCREDIBLE, and will always and has been one of my favorite action actors since his movie "The Rundown". A 10/10 ACTION FILM for sure. Incredible job by the people who made this The Fate of the Furious. I am looking forward to the next one if they choose to make another.

P.S. the ending will probably make you cry. BEAUTIFUL.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOLUME 2 Review

(GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOLUME 2 - COVER)

After watching this sequel to the first Guardians of the Galaxy I'll have to say that although it isn't better than the first one in my opinion, it certainly lived up to my expectations. "A FUCKING GREAT MOVIE THIS IS" is what Yoda might say! Remember I'm a Star Wars Geek. This movie is definitely one to see. The scenes are hilarious, GROOT (the tiny tree super hero) is the cutest super hero you'll ever see, and the fighting scenes are beyond kick ass. For sure one of the most fun and exciting super hero films that I've ever seen!

My Review on "LOGAN"

(LOGAN - COVER)

Out of all the XMEN and WOLVERINE films that I've seen I can easily say that LOGAN is the best one. Although it is probably the last movie you'll see with Hugh Jackman as the great Wolverine, his farewell is nothing less than extraordinary. I also am now a huge fan of Dafne Keen, the little girl who plays Wolverine's daughter in this film. She was magnificent!

My Review on "KONG: SKULL ISLAND"

(SKULL ISLAND - COVER)

I was already a huge fan of the 2005 version of King Kong, but this new one takes the W.  Not only was "KONG: SKULL ISLAND" a brilliantly written and thought out movie, but it was probably the most entertaining film that I have seen in the past year. Samuel L. Jackson is absolutely AMAZING in this film, of course stealing the show from everyone else as usual. If you're looking for an action packed, entertaining, and overall well rounded film to see, this movie is definitely for you!

My Review on "ASSASSIN'S CREED"

(GET THIS MAN OFF THAT DAMN TOWER)

In all honesty they should've just left this alone and kept it as a video game... NOT A GOOD MOVIE BY ANY MEANS. And this isn't one of those cases where I didn't know the story line before the movie even came out; Being a consistent game player of all the "Assassin's Creed's" I was beyond excited when I heard that there was a movie coming to theatre's, but now I am very disappointed. Thaddeus gives this one a "MAYBE NEXT TIME" :/

My Review on "WHY HIM?"

(WHY HIM? - COVER)

Starring James Franco and Bryan Cranston, "Why Him?" is an exceptional movie with the typical modern day plot. Although, I wouldn't say it'll be the funniest movie you've seen all year, I will say that there are moments in the film that might make you spit out your drink from laughing so hard. Aside from the various scenes of James Franco stealing the show (the guy's a comedian), I would say that it was his "assistant" who completely saved the film. Comdian Keegan-Michael Key, who you may know from the "Key and Peele" show, like always, was absolutely hilarious in almost every scene. I also thought that Bryan Cranston was consistently funny as well, which came of no surprise because of the "Malcolm in the Middle" TV series that I grew up watching him in as a kid. Overall, WHY HIM? is a solid movie in my opinion, but as a critic, I cannot say that it lived up to its "advertised expectation". However, if a quick funny movie is what you are looking for, this movie will certainly do the trick.

My Review on "ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY"

(ROGUE ONE - COVER)

After watching Star Wars Rogue One I can honestly say that it has become one of my favorite from the series. With top notch acting and a story told from a different point of view, you can't help but give the movie credit. In a regular Star Wars movie where Darth Vader seems like just another Sith with a light saber, Rogue One shows him from a regular person's point of view, which intensifies his character. The scene in the end where he boards a ship that has just received the transmitted plans of the well known "Death Star" is absolutely incredible. Deflecting lasers, choking men out with the force, and castrating victims, Gareth Edwards (Director of Rogue One) did an amazing job of putting the scene together. One of the best scenes in Star Wars history for sure.
