The most amazing thing about this film is that pretty much every single person acting in it has never been apart of screenplay before, AND IT STILL HAS THE BEST PERFORMANCES THAT I'VE EVER SEEN. Taking place in the violent neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, two boys grow up taking completely different paths; one becoming a photographer, and another a dangerous drug dealer. I know I'm not explaining much, but that is because I really want you to watch this film and see everything that partakes in it. It is truly an amazing picture.

I'm sure you've all heard of this one. "Forrest Gump" is a TREMENDOUS film! Tom Hanks...Tommy boy...I don't know how you do it every time...but you do it every time. Brilliant performance that I of course had to throw on my "GREATEST PERFORMANCES" list as well. With incredible acting, emotional transitions, and a plot that will surely touch your heart, this movie will forever be a great in film history, I can promise that. Definitely one to see!

Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny Curran, eludes him.

Till this day I still stand by my opinion that movies today just aren't like the ones from back in the day. The dialogue in older films was just better PERIOD. Anne of Green Gables is not only one of the most peaceful and drama filled films that I have ever seen, but the story line alone is one that have you intrigued from the moment it begins. GRADE "A" ACTING IN THIS FILM AS WELL!

#5 imitation of life (1959)

NOT RATED | 2 hours 5 minutes

Truly an amazing film. With a plot about a young white actress who hires an African American housekeeper with a light-skinned daughter who rejects her mother by trying to pass as a white woman, "Imitation of Life" will make you feel emotions movies today simply cannot. With top notch acting and scenes that WILL bring out your tears, this movie is no doubt one of the greatest dramas that I have ever seen.

One of the most touching movies that I have ever seen...this movie portrays the true meaning of real friendship. You probably don't have a heart if the ending of this movie doesn't make you cry; And you probably don't have a best friend if your's wouldn't go through the same things with you as Thelma (Susan Sarandon) did with Louise (Geena Davis). Beginning with two women who were nothing but vulnerable and upset with the way their lives have turned out, the movie takes a twist in the plot when a man tries to force himself on Thelma in a bar parking lot and Louise shoots and kills him. On the run, the two are forced to do things they absolutely would've never done before and to watch out for each other with any means necessary. As the movie continues, the two end up running into a rather young Brad Pitt, who's character ends up causing the two a little trouble and ruining part of their master plan to get away. THIS MOVIE IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A FILM THAT MUST BE SEEN BY ANYONE WHO LOVES STORY LINES WITH A GOOD PLOT, TREMENDOUS ACTING, AND SCENES THAT WILL TOUCH YOUR HEART.

I will always love my momma (It's what I call her calm down I know mother is the correct word to use) for making me sit down and watch this movie. "The Help" is a film that takes place during the 1960's about a young writer by the name of Skeeter Phelan who begins to create a book about multiple African American maids own point of views on the white families they work for, and the hardships they go through everyday. TERRIFIC FILM!

A favorite of mine for sure. Beautifully written and directed. "Good Will Hunting" is a phenomenal film that will touch your heart. Amazing acting jobs by Ben Affleck, Robin Willams (R.I.P.), and Matt Damon.

 

PLOT

Will Hunting, a janitor at M.I.T., has a gift for mathematics, but needs help from a psychologist to find direction in his life. He also falls in love with a girl who challenges him to let down his guard that he has built up over many years.

Hands down probably the greatest gangster film ever created hands down! Catching your attention in the very first scene, if you didn't know how grimy it can get in the hood and at the drop of a hat, you will surely find out in this movie. I know a lot of people will probably say that Boyz in the Hood is better than this film, but in my opinion "Menace II Society" is in a league of its own. If you haven't seen this movie then you are missing out. Another "Must see" in my book.

A young street hustler by the name of Caine attempts to escape the negative environment and temptations of the ghetto in a quest for a better life with a girl that he falls in love with.

I love films like these. This performance is a perfect example of why Russell Crowe is held so high in the world of acting. The plot (Based on a true story) is revolved around John Nash, a brilliant but asocial mathematician, who accepts a secret job in cryptography, which causes his life to take a turn for the worst. If a film filled with tons of drama is what you are looking for, then this movie is perfect for you.
